This website has been created to highlight the promotion of child abuse within Australia. These children are some of the most vulnerable children open to abuse.
The children most at risk from the sort of violence promoted in these books and dvd’s, will come from Christian Fundamentalist backgrounds and will be homeschooled.
A large percentage of their parents believe that biblical law precedes civil law. It is illegal not to register your children for homeschooling in Australia, yet thousands of parents blatantly flaunt the law and thousands of children are unaccounted for. Whilst Government run child protection agencies provide helplines, these are of little use to these children. These children have slipped under the radar and are open to the worse kinds of abuse.
These children are kept at home and do not have the opportunity to access help via school. To heighten this problem many religious groups remain isolated ensuring that children have no access to help from local communities or other organisations. Corporal punishment is encouraged to “Train up a Child, ” as preached and promoted by their abusers.
These children do not have access to outside help. Many of them are brainwashed into thinking that God wants them to be beaten, and that it is a normal part of growing up. They are told their parents do it because it is dictated in the bible and it is done out of love.
These children are also extremely vulnerable to sexual abuse. Paedophiles have access to children who are totally isolated.
We are currently campaigning to tighten homeschooling regulations and to stop this literature from being sold in Australia.
